FyreRoc materials are typically used in aggressive environments that leave other materials literally melted or up in smoke! Click on the following links to see fireproof FyreRoc composite systems in action.
Pilot Scale Fire Door Test Video (8.21 MB)
This footage is of a wood door undergoing a 90-minute pilot scale positive pressure fire test followed by a 30 second hose stream test. The door construction included a FyreRoc/intumescent sandwich core that enabled the system to pass the test.
Oven Test Video (7.45 MB)
FyreRoc fireproof composites can outperform other basic materials in high temperature conditions. This video documents an oven test conducted at Goodrich evaluating identically sized carbon/epoxy (15.51g), aluminum (24.93 g), steel (70.81 g), and FyreRoc/carbon composite (16.38 g) beams supporting a 1.5 lb weight in a high temperature environment. After 83 minutes and an ultimate temperature of 800°C (1470°F) the test was terminated; only the FyreRoc composite sample still supported the 1.5 lb. weight.
Blow Torch Video (3.17 MB)
FyreRoc fireproof composites have proven themselves capable of withstanding direct flame exposure in a variety of demanding applications. This video is a basic demonstration of the material’s fire resistance and limited insulating properties. The low thermal conductivity prevents our test subject from getting burned.
