Supplier Resources

Our Purchasing Strategy

The Goodrich Engineered Polymer Products Division (EPP) specializes in the development, design, manufacture, test and support of cutting edge advanced composite products. In support of this strategy, the Materials and Purchasing Departments are responsible for sourcing materials and services from qualified suppliers.

The objective of the Materials and Purchasing Departments is to manage the supply chain in an effort to ensure that our contribution to the financial plan for the division is met. This includes, but is not limited to, continuous improvement in on time delivery performance, continued reduction in supplier quality escapes, and implementing lean tools throughout the supply chain. We recognize that there are significant challenges for us to grow our business. The opportunities for us are predominantly cost focused, and we expect our suppliers to play a key role in meeting this challenge and maximizing the opportunities recognizing that materials represent 50% - 60% of our product cost structure.

Our Material Strategy going forward is based on educating and influencing our suppliers on the merits of lean tools, addressing supply chain logistics issues related to kitting and right sized deliveries, supplier quality certification, electronic connectivity with suppliers, and value engineering.

We aim to have early supplier involvement in new programs and design development. If you are committed to helping us become more competitive and sharing in our achievable and profitable growth plan, contact us to learn more about the specific materials and services we procure.
